XPS 15 7590 compatible with DDR4 SODIMM 3200MHz?

Hello there,

I am trying to buy memory for upgrade for two XPS 15 7590 laptops, so wanted to buy four DIMMs in total.

My main interest is Crucial RAM 64GB Kit (2x32GB) DDR4 2666 MHz CL19 Laptop Memory CT2K32G4SFD8266. Amazon only has one pack of DDR4 2666 MHz but plenty of DDR4 3200 MHz. The Amazon site says that the memory can clock down from DDR 3200MHz to DDR 2666MHz.

Before I spend $500+ on memory upgrade, can an expert on this site confirm that it is ok to buy DDR4 3200 MHz memory for my XPS 15 7590 laptops?

I checked Dell.com to buy the same, I came across the following situation, that Dell confirms that DDR 3200 MHz is compatible. There is also a message from a Dell Tech in the review section.

If it's otherwise compatible, DDR4 3200 will work.  Check with your supplier about compatibility before buying (Crucial guarantees compatibility when purchasing direct from them through their memory configurator, and others such as Kingston have their own memory configurator).

If you stray from certified to work RAM, be sure you understand your supplier's restocking policies including any fees that might be charged for open-package returns.

Thanks, I have asked a question to the vendor on Amazon.  Manufacturer Micron seems to say that DDR4 3200 MHz should work
